Solid Waste

Solid waste can be disposed of at the landfill transfer station operated by the Coastal Regional Solid Waste Management Authority (CRSWMA). The transfer station is located at 3291 NC 306 North (3 miles North of Grantsboro, see map below).

CRSWMA is a public authority formed as a partnership between Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico Counties for the purpose of providing solid waste disposal for citizens of the three member counties. For fee schedules, policies, hours of operation, and general information see the contact data below:

The transfer station is a “Pay As You Throw” facility. You only pay for the amount of garbage that you generate. The more you reduce your garbage by practicing the 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle), the less you pay. Customers are encouraged to arrive early enough to exit the facility by 4:30.
